Which is better in the end, V6 OR V8?

I have an 02 V6 Firebird but i want a V8 SOOO BAD. like a late 90's Camaro Z28 or SS. I know the gas mileage is crap, I just want the power. Is it worth it??? I already feel like i spend a lot on gas.
