What type of truck should I get?

I am trying to decide between a 2007 Lincoln Mark Lt, fully loaded, 15k miles,and a 2007 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, fully loaded, 12k miles. The truck is going to cost me $28,000 and the hybrid is going to cost me $20,000. I am paying cash, which I've had to work for about 4 years to earn. I am a college student, so I think the hybrid will benefit me in terms of gas, insurance, and practical use. On the other hand, for just $8,000 more, the truck is much more luxurious and just seems a bit more attractive. Is there a way I can justify purchasing the truck? What can I use the truck for (ie: hauling) so that it will pay for itself? Should I just buy the hybrid?
