How To Get Rid Of Maggots?

Well I Found About 10 Maggots Today In My Room Beside The Black Bag I Use For Rubbish..There Gone Now..I Was Horrified..I Guess It Was From Putting Food In The Bag And It Went Stale Or Something And I Feel Sick To The Stomach Even Thinking About It..I'm Scared To Go Back Into My Room In case There's More..I'm Never Going To Put Food In My Bin Ever Ever Again But Is There Other Ways You Can Like Make Sure They Don't Ever Come Back Again Because I Definitely Don't Ever Want Them Back In My Room .. I Just Want To Be On The Safe Side You Know ..?I Want To Do Everything I Can To Prevent It .. Please Help .. Xxx P.S Would It Be Alright To Give Them To A Bearded Dragon ( Lizard ) Because My Brother Did And Now I'm Worried
