How does welfare work in Georgia?

I've been told to go to WIC or foodstamps since at the moment I am 8 months pregnant and on bed rest and can't help buy food or work to help support my family, but something I've read on-- and don't understand is the concept of Welfare, is it like WIC and foodstamps? Is it part of WIC/foodstamps? How does it work, what does your crisis need to be. It's confusing me, and I'm not sure if it's something I want to apply for..
